| rec.gambling.poker
Discussion of all variants of live poker, both home and cardroom
versions, as well as strategy, cardroom policies and ambiance, play
via e-mail and IRC, and poker software. Excluded are discussions of
Video Poker, Caribbean Stud, Fast-Action Holdem, Double-Down Stud and
other such games that are played against a bank, either house or player
supplied; discussion of such games would be appropriate in the
newsgroup rec.gambling.other-games. |
| Rec.gambling is a high-volume newsgroup (100 or more posts a day is very
common, with surges to 200), which has resulted in many people being
unable to keep up with the group in a reasonable way even with the use of
killfiles. The recent newsgroup creation of alt.sport.horse-racing,
alt.lotto.players and alt.vacation.las-vegas all point to a desire to
subdivide this newsgroup. |
| Voting for the rec.gambling reorganization vote ended 23:59:59 UTC,
22 May 1995. This vote was conducted by a neutral third party. For
voting questions only, contact the votetaker, Bill Aten .
For questions about the proposed groups, contact the proponent, Edmund Hack

| Discussion of gambling games not covered in other newsgroups,
including games such as Keno, Slots, Video Poker, Roulette, Pai Gow, Pai Gow
Poker, Baccarat, Let It Ride, Carribean Stud Poker, and the Big Wheel. |
| rec.gambling.misc

room rates, trip reports, entertainment and dining at gaming resorts,
general gambling publications, software, gaming business news, the
Power of Presto, BARGE and variants, chip flushing, gaming enhancers
